1. Knight and Day
Roy Miller is a secret agent who goes on a blind date with unlucky-in-love June Havens, and ends up pulling her into a journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.



Directed by Two time Oscar winner, James Mangold (Girl, Interrupted & Walk the Line), it also stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It is set to release on July 2, 2010.

EARLY LIFE

Born August 2, 1976, in Godalming, Surrey, England; Samuel Henry J. "Sam" Worthington was born of his parents – his father, Ronald a power plant employee and his mother, a homemaker cared for him and his sister – in Warnbro, a suburb of Rockingham near Perth, Australia.

He attended John Curtin College of the Arts, but school was never a priority for him as he dropped out at 17, though he did show his first inkling of interest in the arts while in high school. He worked construction and odd jobs, eventually settling in Sydney. He was 19 and working as a bricklayer when he auditioned for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and was accepted, with scholarship; where he gained valuable training from the Institute, graduating in 1998 at the age of 22.

1.      Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

A young boy named Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) discovers that he is the demigod son of the Greek god, Poseidon (Kevin McKidd). He embarks on a journey across modern-day America with his friends Annabeth Chase (Alexandra Daddario), also a demigod, and Grover Underwood (Brandon T. Jackson), a satyr, to save his mother (Catherine Keener), return Zeus' (Sean Bean) stolen lightning bolt, and prevent a war between the gods.

It is set to release on February 12, 2010.

Happy New Year and welcome to 2010 everyone. A new decade has begun and here is a list of some real good movies that you shouldn't miss out on this month.

1.      Daybreakers

Daybreakers is a vampire film written and directed by Peter and Michael Spierig. The film stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill.

Think Zombieland, only instead of nearly the entire population turning into zombies........... It’s Vampires. Ten years after a plague turned most of the world's population into vampires, a critical blood shortage is causing panic and gruesome mutations within the undead community. Edward (Ethan Hawke), a vampire hematologist, is trying to develop a blood substitute when he meets Lionel (Willem Dafoe) and Audrey (Claudia Karvan), two fugitive humans who claim to have a possible cure for vampirism. Edward casts his lot in with Lionel and Audrey in the hope of perfecting the cure before it's too late.

      10.  G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra

A live adaptation of the G.I. Joe toy franchise; The Rise of the Cobra, despite it being panned by critics, it was still a really interesting movie which was well received worldwide. Also the scene where the Eiffel tower was destroyed was simply just amazing. 

Basically, the movie follows two American soldiers, Duke and Ripcord, who join the G.I. Joe Team after being attacked by Cobra. Directed by “The Mummy” director Stephen Sommers, it stars Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Sienna Miller, Adewale Akinuoye-Agbaje and Dennis Quaid.

Simply put, G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra is a really cool franchise in the making as a sequel is already in works.

END OF THE YEAR SPECIAL – DEATHS in HOLLYWOOD

This is not a saddened post but a celebration of the demise of the wonderful actors, actresses and an agent that have helped bring really good movies to our screen for decades now. This piece would concentrate on a few of these gracious talents, they are:

1.      PAT HINGLE (July 19, 1924 – January 3, 2009)

Martin Patterson "Pat" Hingle was a veteran actor for more than fifty years in film, theatre, and television. He 
is probably most known for this role of Commissioner James Gordon in the 1989 film Batman and its three sequels. 

Recently he appeared in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, as the original owner of Dennit Racing.
Some of his movie credits include Hang ‘Em High, Stephen King’s Maximum Overdrive, Muppets from Space and the Shaft remake in 2000.

Pat Hingle died at his home in Carolina Beach, North Carolina of leukaemia on January 3, 2009. He had been diagnosed with myelodysplasia in November 2006.

PREVIEWS - DECEMBER MOVIES

Last month in the year 2009 and there are some awesome movies that are a must see before you go into 2010. Leave the 2000s watching at least one of these movies.
1. ARMORED
Armored a crime thriller directed by Nimród Antal, starring Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Amaury Nolasco (Sucre from Prison Break), Milo Ventimiglia (Peter from Heroes) and Colombus Short.

A crew of officers at an armored transport security firm risk their lives when they embark on the ultimate heist….against their own company. Armed with a seemingly fool-proof plan, the men plan on making off with a fortune with harm to none. But when an unexpected witness interferes, the plan quickly unravels and all bets are off.
Opens: December 4 Runtime: 1hr. 28min. Rated: PG-13

REVIEWS – THANKSGIVING

--> I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving with your families, as these are movies to see this Holiday weekend.

1.      FANTASTIC MR. FOX

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop-motion animated film based on Roald Dahl's book of the same name. It features the voices of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson, Willem Defoe, Michael Gambon and Bill Murray. It is the first animated film directed by Wes Anderson (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Darjeeling Limited).

Mr and Mrs Fox (Clooney & Streep) live an idyllic home life with their son Ash (Jason Schwartzman) and visiting young nephew Kristopherson. But after 12 years, the bucolic existence proves too much for Mr Fox's wild animal instincts. Soon he slips back into his old ways as a sneaky chicken thief and in doing so, endangers not only his beloved family, but the whole animal community. Trapped underground and with not enough food to go around, the animals band together to fight against the evil Farmers -- Boggis, Bunce and Bean -- who are determined to capture the audacious, fantastic Mr Fox at any cost.

The movie premiered on October 14, 2009 at the London Film Festival. It went on general UK release on October 23, 2009. It was limited released in the US on November 13, 2009, and was released for wide viewing on November 25, 2009.
