Now this is how you make a Vampire/Romance film, not the ridiculously depressing Twilight series; though Francis Cord Coppola did overdo it especially on the romantic front, as the story felt a bit overcrowded but certainly made up for it with his approach, making Dracula more than just a blood thirsty vampire but an undead man with heart.

The production was visually scintillating and the art direction is amazing. While the acting department (supporting actors that is) was limp, Gary Oldman totally embodied his director's vision thereby making his performance one of the best portrayals ever!

This is the seventh movie by Martin Scorsese appearing on the cinephile project; which comprises of brilliant production, historical accuracy, impressive screenplay, amazing mise-en-scène and costumes, and superb acting from Daniel-Day Lewis.

I can't believe this film was made in 1988, the idea behind it is surreal and the animation is awesome.
This techno thriller was fantastically made with momentum (right from the start), bloody good violence, thought provoking and a fast paced story line - which is not bad considering its source is a 2000 page manga.

Kaneda's red bike is iconic. This is not just a brilliantly made anime, it's a Classic!

Hope they don't mess up the live-action remake.

Silence of the Lambs

This is a horror masterpiece, and the first of its kind to appear on the project with Anthony Hopkins delivering a one-of-a-kind performance as Hannibal Lecter.

This classic is hypnotic and brilliant, as it features an intellectual battle between a young up and coming FBI agent and a brilliant cannibalistic psychiatrist/serial killer; which was acted brilliantly. The story is really brilliant, nerve-racking, intense and mercilessly scary.

This Indie hit put Terrence Howard on the map, and Craig Brewer too, in his second directorial feature. The story is not all that but the way it was told is unique, funky and sincere way; with killer beats and an amazing song to accompany it.

Mystic River

This murder mystery was really moving, as the story is beautifully layered and it keeps you intrigued till the very end. Clint Eastwood's (director) portrayal of this novel adaptation is dark, graphical and haunting; accompanied by some magnificent acting makes this an emotionally-charged thriller.

Tom Reagan: If you want me to keep my mouth shut, it's gonna cost you some dough. I figure a thousand bucks is reasonable, so I want two.

Miller's Crossing
After seeing this film I couldn't help myself thinking how it performed woefully at the box office, as this is truly one of the finest gangster flicks ever made. It's also unique in its own special way, which features some of the most brilliant dialogues you can ever get out of this genre.

The Coen brothers, who wrote, produced and directed this film, delivered a really stylish crime story, with carefully placed comic moments, which also featured top notch performances from Gabriel Byrne, Albert Finney, John Turturro, Jon Polito, Marcia Gay Harden and J. E. Freeman. Basically the entire cast was fantastic down to Steve Buscemi, as the film features some really interesting characters especially Johnny Casper and Eddie Dane (Played by Jon Politoand J. E. Freeman). Also, the cinematography is really amazing.

It's engaging, fascinating, gritty, haunting, visceral and Robert De Niro is crazy!

This is yet another Martin Scorsese movie that is appearing on the project and it's a mighty fine film, featuring one of De Niro's finest performances.
