The story was simple and straight forward, also Denzel's and Dakota's on screen relationship is quite beautiful.
But, the movie sold me when Creasy (Denzel) took on the bad guys was cool. I selected this movie for its coolness in Denzel's swagger period!

Meryl Streep, once again, proved why she's such an amazing actress with her performance as Julia Child. Also, the way Nora Ephron (Writer/Director) presented both stories is amazing, connecting the distant past (1950's) and the not-so-distant past (early 2000s) was brilliant! Also, much praise goes to the supporting actors ranging from Stanley Tucci to Mary Lynn Rajskub. And finally, Amy Adams' on screen chemistry with Chris Messina (Eric Powell, Julie Powell's Husband) was blissful.

Released August 7, 2009 grossed $129,540,499 worldwide and won Meryl Streep a Golden Globe.

NB - The boeuf bourguignon Amy Adams cook looked really good!

Worst Movies of the Summer

Besides the fact that a huge chunk of the movies that opened this summer were either remakes, prequels, sequels or comic-adaptations; some movies just stood out as EXCEPTIONALLY awful! Here are 5 of the worst:

First I can't understand how a studio can pick up such a ridiculous idea/script and then spend $50 million, on what I considered to be a complete waste of time for everyone involved in the movie - except Danny McBride.

Harry Potter sets first day record

After opening for 24 hours, distributor Warner Bros. reports that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" summoned up $92.1 million domestically (US).

That's nearly $20 million more than the previous record-holder, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which took in $72.7 million in its first day two years ago.

In a single day, "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" took in more money than four of the previous seven "Harry Potter" films did over their entire opening weekends.

The finale of the "Harry Potter" saga also set a record for midnight screenings with $43.5 million. That topped "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," which pulled in about $30 million in its first midnight shows last year.

Box-office tracker Hollywood.com projected Saturday that "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" also could break the opening-weekend record of $158.4 million domestically held by "The Dark Knight."
