Day #80
Slumdog Millionaire
Clearly one of the best films ever made. This urban adventure literally goes on an amazing journey of survival and love told through a unique medium ... a game show! This film show the life of the hustler in a visually dazzling manner, with a little focus on the horror that child beggars face.
The actors were great, especially the child actors (I find it shocking that not even one of these kids was even nominated for an Academy Award .. seriously?); packed with a smart director (Danny Boyle), excellent screenplay (in particular the conversation between the Eighteen yr old Jamal and the Police Inspector), the score and winning a total of 118 awards -- included are eight Academy Awards, seven BAFTAs, four Golden Globes and two Grammys.
All these combined make (in my opinion) Slumdog Millionaire the second best movie of 2008 as Movie #49 come top, but this is certainly a lovely film -- maybe just "Great".
It was more than just ' " Great.,' " so much more.
