Mystic River
This murder mystery was really moving, as the story is beautifully layered and it keeps you intrigued till the very end. Clint Eastwood's (director) portrayal of this novel adaptation is dark, graphical and haunting; accompanied by some magnificent acting makes this an emotionally-charged thriller.
The actors were superb earning them Academy Awards for both Best and Supporting Actor; Sean Penn as Jimmy Markum, Tim Robbins as Dave Boyle and Kevin Bacon as Detective Sean Devine were really good, these actors made this film work. Others include Laura Linney, Marcia Gay Harden and Lawrence Fishburne.
Mystic River is a mystery that keeps you guessing wrong the entire time, and then when you think you've got it, it knocks you out; a hypnotic thriller best describes it.
